This Hong Kong restaurant is a popular spot in Chinatown and during peak hours, you may have a long wait. Here, if you pay in cash or Venmo, then there's a discount! Service is nice and pretty quick. I came here at the end of a Chinatown food crawl and barely had space for any food. Nonetheless, I decided to give their curry fish ball and HK toast a try. Their fish balls were pretty standard and I didn't think anything special of their curry sauce. However, I was pleasantly surprised by their HK toast (it was also the first time I've tried HK toast). The dessert was crispy, buttery, and soaked with condensed milk that made the toast heavenly. I would definitely get this again and would love to come back to try some of their popular entrees (like the baked rice!).

The most underrated brunch in Manhattan's Chinatown. Kong Sihk Tong is a Cantonese/Hong Kong style cafe, which focus on serving inexpensive food quickly. The menu is massive, featuring everything from traditional dishes to Cantonese interpretations of Western dishes like Spaghetti Carbonara and a Club Sandwich. While Mei Lai Wah across the street and Golden Diner down the block have ever-present long lines, Kong Sihk Tong is somehow never very busy. The interior is casual and cozy, with lots of seating considering the small space. You must order the Golden Lava French Toast. This is a classic Hong Kong style breakfast/dessert of soft white bread stuffed with a sweet and salty egg yolk custard, and then deep fried until crisp and golden. 10/10. The Steamed Rice Roll with Mixed Peanut Butter Sauce consisted of tender sheets of steamed rice that had been cut quite narrowly and then rolled into perfectly bite sized bundles. The rich peanut butter paired perfectly with the umami rich hoisin sauce and sesame seeds. Another must order. The Hong Kong Milk Tea was not particularly flavorful, but pleasantly piping hot on a cold day. Skip the Curry Beef Brisket. My husband remarked that the meat was low quality and dry, and the curry itself lacked depth of flavor. Also, too many green bell peppers. Regardless, we look forward to trying more of the menu.

Came here on a Monday and was surprised to see that seating was decently filled. I've never been here before so I didn't know what to expect but I've heard good things. I came with my friend who has a baby in a stroller. The restaurant was very narrow and as we went in with the stroller, we pretty much blocked the whole entrance. Despite this, the staff were VERY patient and accommodating as they prepared a table for us. After a few minutes, we went inside and all the staff were super nice, engaging in small talk, and ensuring that the baby was safely sitting in his high chair. We ordered the golden lava French toast, baked fried rice with pork chop, baked rice with chicken Portuguese style, and a curry beef brisket over rice. The golden lava french toast was divine! When we all had our first bite, we were shocked at how good it was. The baked pork chop and baked Portuguese chicken rice were both also very good. The curry flavor was good as well, but the piece of beef brisket that I tried was a little tough. Overall, the portions were great, the food was delicious, and the staff was super friendly. They made sure any utensils and hot baked dishes were FAR from the baby. Our waiter (I believe Chiu from the receipt) was also telling us about his experience being a dad. It was a wonderful experience eating here and you best believe I'm coming back very soon because of the great service.
